▪︎ Elliott Legal Translations

◼︎ About me

Dr. Donna Elliott

After completing my legal training in Sydney in 1982, I worked for several years at a law firm in Sydney before moving to Germany where I joined an international law firm in Düsseldorf. Later, I took up a position as a research assistant at the Institute for Private International and Comparative Law at Cologne University while writing my PhD thesis.

In 1991 I began working as a freelance translator, specialising in the translation of legal documents for law firms, the legal departments of international companies and courts, including the German Federal Constitutional Court. For a period of seven years, I also served as the in-house translator for a major German law firm.

Some of my translations of judgments have been published in Decisions of the Bundesverfassungsgericht - Federal Constitutional Court - Federal Republic of Germany (Nomos Verlag) and in 60 Years German Basic Law: The German Constitution and its Court (CLJ Publication / Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V.).
